Michael Hill New Zealand Open, Queenstown, 28th - 31st January
The popular Michael Hill New Zealand Open Championship will be held at The Hills golf course in Arrowtown near Queenstown on 28th to 31st January. Spectators are welcome on each day of play and it's a great opportunity for fans of golf to enjoy not only world-class golfers in action, but some of New Zealand's most stunning alpine scenery.
The Championship forms part of two tournaments in Australasia with the Moonah Classic (near Melbourne) completing the championship in early February.
About Arrowtown
Arrowtown is situated by the Arrow River and is a former gold mining town. It enjoys four very distinct seasons, long hot summers, stunningly-coloured autumns, crisp clear winters and verdant springs. About the Golf Course
The Hills golf course opened in 2007 and is located on over 250 acres of former deer farm on the outskirts of Arrowtown in Central Otago. This beautiful property includes ten lakes and various ponds and waterways on the golf course itself.
Trees, both native and exotic, are a feature of the Hills golf course and the wetland area has been expanded, planted out with varieties of New Zealand flax, toetoe, the ubiquitous cabbage tree and wetland grasses and reeds. More than 50,000 red and silver tussock plants create a spectacular visual statement.
