New Zealand Masters Games, 4th - 14th February
Join in the fun at the 2011 New Zealand Masters Games as either a participant or spectator – this programme of sports is designed to encourage entries from novices to experts alike. Virtually all of the 67 sports in the games offer a social grade and the games are well-known for their entertaining social events.
The New Zealand Masters Games is the largest programme of sports for masters in New Zealand and it's expected that over 8,000 entrants will be participate. Some of the sports that may particularly appeal to prospective entrants, spectators and visitors include:
- Gnarly Guy/Gal – An off-road course packed full of mud, water, bush and fun for individuals and teams (team must be of four people including one female)
- Waka Ama – Exciting out-rigger canoe races for men's, women's and mixed teams
- Rugby 7s – See why the All Blacks selectors have been spoilt for choice (for a long time).
