Cook Islands Accommodation

Cook Islands accommodation, Cook Islands hotel accommodation

There are a range of accommodation options available on the Cook Islands. These include backpacker hostels, hotels, self-contained cottages and holiday homes.

As with many countries in the South Pacific, the Cook Islands are a popular holiday destination for weddings and honeymoons. Many Cook Islands hotels offer their own wedding packages and the services of a wedding specialist to help you organise your special day.

Rarotonga Accommodation

The north-eastern coast of Rarotonga is the most regional, with quiet village settings and stunning views of the mountains. There are a few self-contained beach cottages along this coastline which are perfect for couples wanting privacy.

The most popular beach area is at Muri, on the southern part of the island, with a lagoon perfect for swimming and views of several outlying islands. Muri has a very good selection of Cook Islands accommodation, including resorts, backpacker hostels and self-contained beach cottages and holiday homes. Muri is also serviced by several good restaurants and a few shops.

On the western coast of Rarotonga there is also a good selection of Cook Islands hotel accommodation, although the properties are well spread out. This coastline attracts holidaymakers for its long sweeping beach and gorgeous sunsets. There are also plenty nearby restaurants.

Although camping is prohibited in the Cook Islands, there is a good choice of backpacker hostels for travellers looking for budget accommodation.

Aitutaki Accommodation

Aitutaki is a beautiful lagoon island about a 45-minute flight north of Rarotonga. The island has lovely, picture-perfect beaches.

Accommodation in Aitutaki ranges from small resorts to self-catering bungalows.
