Welcome to Collinson's Cottage and Apartment, our relaxing self-contained accommodation in Wanaka, New Zealand—a real home away from home.
Our apartment and bed and breakfast in Wanaka, New Zealand, is located in one of the most picturesque areas in New Zealand. Enjoy the wondrous alpine views, the sparkling lake, the range of activities available including fishing, skiing, boating and tramping.
Homestay Accommodation – The main guest room named 'The Jasmine Room' has a queen-size bed and TV. The second guest bedroom has two single beds. The guest bathroom has a shower, spa bath, basin and toilet. You have your own guest lounge with tea and coffee making facilities, fridge and filtered water.
Self-Contained Studio – Attached to the house is a self-contained studio with kitchen, washing machine and dryer, gas hot water heating. The studio has a double bed, en suite bathroom, television, your own private garden setting. Studio guests join us for breakfast.
All guests are welcome to relax with a beverage in our BBQ area set within a garden courtyard.
Our newly completed apartment in Wanaka is of contemporary design, with a flavour for the past. Built to provide all your needs winter and summer. It is set within our established garden, with its own private barbecue area and car parking.
The apartment is in a private location and all the facilities are brand new.
The apartment has beautiful views of our mountains and lake from the balcony and restaurants and shops are only minutes away.
Collinson's Gallery – Brian is a keen painter of landscapes in oils, and a member of the Southland and Otago Art Society.
Golf – We have a lovely 18-hole course in Wanaka which is a test of skill with majestic views. There are two 9-hole courses only 20 minutes drive. Have you tried Golf Cross? Let Wanaka be your first.
Skiing – There are two Alpine ski fields within a half-hour drive of Wanaka (Treble Cone and Cardrona), and one cross country snow farm.
Sightseeing – Warbirds over Wanaka and the Fighter and transport museum are a must. Plus a visit to our Wanaka famous puzzle centre and maze.
Relaxing – There is a well known winery round the lake—the taste is as excellent as the view. Water sports and walking tracks abound.
Every year Wanaka hosts a number of world-class festivals and events, including Warbirds Over Wanaka, the biggest three-day air show in the Southern Hemisphere. At the International World Heli-Challenge, the world's best snowboarders and skiers tackle the demanding back-country alpine slopes for the title.
The jewel of the region is its highest point, Mount Aspiring (3,027 metres), which nestles comfortably in one of the country's largest national parks. Delve inside the park's boundaries and discover a rare world.
Wine is always on the menu—there's a selection of award-winning vineyards within easy travelling distance of Wanaka township.
If your taste buds run to beer, then Wanaka can satisfy even the most discerning with something to sip from the Wanaka Beerworks, an international award winning brewery.
