Now just 45 minutes north of Auckland, our Matakana retreat accommodation is the perfect weekend or mid-week escape from the city. Unwind in luxurious, stand-alone accommodation overlooking vineyards and the Glen Eden River.
Our Matakana retreat accommodation has a unique flexible design which allows us to configure the sleeping and entertainment layout in your individual bach to suit your personal requirements. Each bach is fully furnished and equipped to a high standard.
Designed by renowned New Zealand architects 'Architectus', there is a free-flow between indoor and outdoor spaces. Expansive decks on both sides mean that outdoor dining and barbecuing is possible year-round.

Riverside Matakana's meeting rooms accommodate up to 20 people comfortably. The environment is conducive to both formal and informal meetings, presentations and other events.

Matakana Village has been transformed into a historically sympathetic, architecturally acclaimed hub, hosting the Matakana Market on Saturday mornings and many other popular shops and amenities.
Local vineyards offer great wine and food experiences; from the small boutique vineyards of Hyperion and Omaha Bay Vineyards to the larger Brick Bay, Ascension and Matakana Estate.
The Matakana Coast also offers some of the most beautiful beaches in the Hauraki Gulf. Chose from Pakiri, Omaha or Tawharanui, with pristine sands and turquoise seas.
Matakana Coast is the gateway to Kawau Bay and the Hauraki Gulf where you can dive for crayfish and scallops or fish for snapper and kingfish. There are many charter operators who will happily take you out, or alternatively you could rent a kayak to explore the coastline.
