About Ahipara
Ahipara has a spectacular situation at the base of 90 Mile Beach which allows you to participate in a variety of outdoor activities, or you can just relax and enjoy the view.
If fishing is your game, 90 Mile Beach is the ideal spot for surf-casting. The 90 Mile Classic, New Zealand's largest beach based fishing competition, is held here in February each year. If you're after larger game, spend the day on a charter boat. Big game fishing between January and April is a thrilling experience.
Dry-land fun can be had with exhilarating quad-bike tours, where you head up into the huge sand dunes of Tauroa point. If you're for more peaceful activities, Ahipara's 18 hole links golf course is a wonderful outing with superb sea views. When the wind gets up there is blo-karting on the beach, which is fun racing for all ages.

Fishing, boat, beach, and rock are all here in relatively unexploited form. Adventure is catered for at the Adventure centre—this is the place to take tours to Cape Reinga and also to explore the Karikari Peninsula.
Cape Reinga, where the Tasman Sea meets the Pacific Ocean, is one of the most northern spots in New Zealand. Coach tours to the Cape drive along the flat, silvery sands of Ninety Mile Beach (actually only 64 miles or 103km long)—an historic highway that is very popular with surf casters and surfers.
As one of the first regions visited and settled by Europeans, the region has the oldest European villages in New Zealand and many historic buildings of interest.
