Airport Skyway Lodge Introduction

Airport Skyway Lodge is a small friendly lodge offering cheap Auckland accommodation. We are just a five-minute drive from Auckland Airport and offer courtesy transport to and from Auckland Airport (not 24 hours).

If you want peace and quiet before or after your flight, our Auckland backpacker accommodation is the ideal place for you. We are not on the flight path so there is no aircraft noise.

Cheap Auckland Accommodation

Choose from a range of lodge backpacker rooms or motel units.

The Lodge

The lodge is quite small and has only 10 rooms.

Single Rooms – Double bed or two single beds suitable for one or two persons. Some have shared bathroom facilities.

Double or Twin Rooms – En suite bathroom and tea and coffee making facilities.

None of the rooms have telephone or TV—there is a communal TV lounge. All rooms are non-smoking.

Motel Units

We have two large self-contained units which have a lounge with TV, large kitchen with oven and microwave and full set of crockery and utensils. The bathroom has shower and bath to relax in.

For two persons, we have a one-bedroom unit and for two or more people a two-bedroom unit—ask for a rate for your family.

Cheap Auckland Accommodation Facilities

Our Auckland backpacker accommodation has a very large, fully equipped kitchen where you can prepare your own meals. Or, just five minutes walk away, there are takeaways, restaurants and shops.

We operate a courtesy bus to Auckland Airport each hour from 6:45 am – 9:45 am. For earlier departures taxis are available.

The bus service runs right outside our door and will take you into the city. An "Auckland Pass" includes travel on all bus routes all day and also the ferry service to Devonport on the North Shore. A very reasonable way to see all the sights of Auckland.

Auckland Car Rentals

Contact us if you want to rent a car while you are in New Zealand. We can source you good reliable rental cars at very good rates. If you are coming to New Zealand during November to March it is necessary to pre-book your car to obtain the best rates.

We deal with two or three companies who are based near our lodge and they will come here to pick you up.

All cars have AA membership and breakdown service, unlimited kilometres and full comprehensive and third party insurance cover.

Cyclist Facilities

If you are flying in and out of Auckland, consider our free bike box storage. Providing your bike is in a box, we can collect you and your bike from the Airport and have facilities for you to assemble your bike at your leisure.

If you stay here on your last night, we will store your box for free and transport you back to Auckland Airport (at specified times).

All New Zealand cities have facilities for cyclists. There are also many bike trails, parks, mountain biking tracks and cycling events around Auckland for you to enjoy.
