Allegra House Introduction

Allegra House is conveniently located in central Paihia, offering you quality bed and breakfast accommodation in the Bay of Islands.

Purpose built rooms with modern, quality fittings complement the light, airy ambience. Allegra House also offers a self-contained apartment in Paihia that sleeps up to three people. Stay with us and enjoy spectacular views of Paihia, Russell and the Bay of Islands.

Nature lovers have access to our bush with lots of birds including New Zealand pigeon, fantails, rosellas, morepork and mature trees including rimu, kauri, silver fern, flax, totara, manuka, rewarewa.

Use our bed and breakfast accommodation in the Bay of Islands to visit places such as Waitangi (birthplace of New Zealand) and other historic places, sail or cruise among the islands, go fishing, swim with dolphins, do day trips to kauri forest or Cape Reinga, or relax on one of the many beaches around the Bay.

Our Bed and Breakfast Accommodation in the Bay of Islands

At Allegra House, we offer two types of accommodation. Choose between our two Bed and Breakfast suites, or our self-contained apartment in Paihia that can sleep up to three.

Bed and Breakfast Suites – Our two bed and breakfast rooms have TV, tea/coffee making facilities, fridge, balcony and wonderful views out over the Bay of Islands. The rooms are decorated in a modern style with quality fittings and give plenty of opportunity to enjoy being just above central Paihia.

The rooms have seating areas and the use of a lounge on the first floor. Continental breakfast is included and is served either on your balcony or in the first floor dining area.

The second floor 'Top Suite' has an en suite bathroom with a shower and can sleep a total of two guests. It has a super-king-size bed or twin beds on request.

The ground floor 'Bush Room', an en suite bathroom with a shower, can sleep a total of two guests. It has a queen bed.

Self-contained Apartment – The apartment includes a queen-size bed in the bedroom and a large tiled bathroom. The kitchen is fully equipped including oven, ceramic top, microwave, and dish washer. The spacious lounge opens onto a large balcony with plenty of covered area as well as space for sunbathing.

The apartment sleeps two with a single bed in lounge for a third person.

Second en suite bedroom if required with queen-size bed, TV, balcony and tea and coffee making facilities across the corridor. This room is also used as 'Bush Room' Bed and Breakfast.

About New Zealand and Northland

Split into two main islands, and roughly the same size as Great Britain, New Zealand is a country of diverse geographical features—from lush rainforests to vast alpine chains, steaming volcanoes and sweeping coastlines.

Much of Northlands' extensive coastline remains unspoilt—an aquatic playground for adventure activities and escapist relaxation. Whangarei and Opua are renowned throughout the Pacific as attractive havens for yachts. You'll find that Maori culture is still very much alive in this region (32 percent of the population are Maori), and you'll also enjoy the shopping, dining and entertainment possibilities that stem from the distinctive local culture—which embraces art, creativity, organic farming and alternative thinking.
