Designer Cottage bed and breakfast in Christchurch was a sailors' retreat in the 1970s and is located in peaceful surroundings just off Colombo Street (the main street of Christchurch) near the shops and opposite Sydenham Park. It is a piece of living history that is a snap shot of the traditional Kiwi lifestyle of the past.

We offer a variety of unique rooms, all of which are tastefully decorated, including share facilities, private room with en suite and self-contained two or three-bedroom cottages.

It is a short walk to the city centre from our Christchurch holiday cottages or you can take a bus from the end of our street. A free shuttle operates for part of the journey to the city.

Your friendly host, Chet, has an honours degree in Landscape Architecture and is passionate about traditional buildings and his landscaping ideas.

Designer Cottage is one of his finest collections and presents the charms of yesterday and all guests are welcome to view the 'Designer Village' and hear his stories about the cottage.

Designer 55 is a small, unique and cosy self-contained circa 1900 heritage Christchurch holiday cottage with private facilities, a kitchen, two double rooms, a lounge/dining room and access to our private and landscaped garden area.
