Your Dunedin Bed and Breakfast Hosts
Hi from Di and Peter! "We built the house we'd love to stay in as guests ourselves". We are a professional couple who enjoy people and sharing hospitality.
Peter, with a PhD in ecology and a former director of New Zealand's National Trust, loves sharing his deep interest in New Zealand's natural heritage and conservation. We both enjoy fine wine, music, friends and firelight.

Location of Our Dunedin Bed and Breakfast Lodge
Dunedin is famous for having the world's only easily accessible mainland Royal Albatross colony, the world's rarest penguin, and the world's steepest street, but this is just the tip of what's available, so allow yourself enough time to see the highlights.
Highland Peaks is only 7 minutes drive from restaurants and retail facilities. We are 15 minutes from Dunedin city and the airport, and near to the peninsula. We provide an excellent base for exploring the region's attractions.
Dunedin Attractions
Dunedin's architectural heritage has provided the city with some notable buildings, including the train station, town hall, university and many churches. There are also special former private residences worth noting including Olveston, a Jacobean-style family home and Glenfalloch, surrounded by 12 hectares of woodland garden. Neo-Gothic Larnach Castle represents the finest of nineteenth century craftsmanship.
A natural attraction on the Otago Peninsula is the abundant wildlife, only a 20-minute drive from the central business district. Nature and wildlife tour companies run daily excursions to view fur seals, endangered yellow-eyed penguin, cormorants and albatross. Nowhere else in the world does the largest of the world's sea birds live within such easy human access.
Further north on the Otago coast is Oamaru, known for the grand white stone buildings of its old harbour side precinct. On Moeraki Beach, about halfway between Oamaru and Dunedin are the unique, perfectly round Moeraki Boulders, which weigh up to four tonnes each.
