The Whitehouse Bed and Breakfast is our superior homestay bed and breakfast in Hawkes Bay, in the heart of Havelock North and very close to both Hastings, Napier and the centre of New Zealand's wine and dining experience.

Our Havelock North bed and breakfast features an outside spa pool and deck that takes in the fantastic views of the Heretaunga plains – one of New Zealand's most fertile growing regions.

The Whitehouse Bed and Breakfast in Havelock North has two luxury suites that provide fine Egyptian cotton sheets, snug feather duvets, individual room heating, tea/coffee making facilities, TV, stereo and surround sound throughout the home from central control.

Woodford Suite – This spacious suite offers king-size luxury, wonderful views, TV/DVD, stereo with surround sound throughout the home from central control, spacious bathroom with spa bath, shower and separate toilet.

Iona Suite – This spacious suite at our Havelock North bed and breakfast offers queen-size luxury, wonderful views, TV, stereo, with surround sound throughout the home from central control, own small en suite and toilet.

In addition, both suites have bath robes, slippers, electric blanket, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities.

Guests staying at our Havelock North bed and breakfast also have access to the upstairs lounge where you can enjoy the company of your hosts or relax outside with your wine or beer on the deck or soak up the warmth of the spa pool and the wonderful views of the Heretaunga Plains.

Napier, the main city of the region, has one of the largest concentrations of Art Deco buildings in the world. It was razed by earthquake and fire in 1931, and rebuilt in the art deco style which was fashionable at the time.

The Hawkes Bay vineyards are all within a short distance of Napier and Hastings, the other city in the region. More than 30 vineyards are open to the public for wine tasting. Many also operate cafes and restaurants in both indoor and outdoor settings.

Another unique attraction is the gannet colony on the very tip of Cape Kidnappers—believed to be one of only two mainland gannet colonies in the world. Gannets are large sea birds with long, pointed wings and golden-yellow heads. Most spectacular is their method of fishing, when whole flocks suddenly dive straight into the sea from a great height, at speeds of up to 145 kilometres per hour.
