Activities at our Cottages near Auckland

Four of the country's most beautiful golf courses are also close by—among them the Muriwai Golf Club.

Beautiful fairways roll out before you with the boom of surf and deep hues of the sea at your shoulder. Modelled on traditional Scottish seaside courses, the views here are breathtaking from every hole. The three other courses in the district are equally picturesque.

This area is one of the Auckland region's best kept secrets. As well as luxuriating in your private world, there are many reasons to explore beyond the cottage gate. A few minutes stroll from your hideaway is one of the area's most recognised restaurants. The Hunting Lodge is 130 years old and offers the very finest of New Zealand cuisine in award winning style.

The west coast beaches here are well worth exploring. Stretching out for miles, warm sand dunes and salty air bring their own tranquility to visitors. There are also many forest walkways to follow, taking you through varied and spectacular countryside. Throughout the area there is a wealth of things to see and do, from adventure trips, to fishing expeditions and horse trekking.

Talk to us first and whatever your whim, we can arrange it for you.

About Auckland

Auckland's amazing geography and warm, humid climate has inspired a lifestyle that's regularly ranked in the world's top ten. In just half an hour you can be almost anywhere: sailing to an island, trekking through the rainforest, picnicking on a volcano or wandering a wild, black sand surf beach.

For an island escape, choose between Waiheke, Motuihe, Rangitoto, or journey a little further to Tiri Tiri Matangi, Kawau or Great Barrier.

To the west, north and south there are beaches and vineyards. The native forests of the Waitakere and Hunua ranges let you discover New Zealand's unique bird and tree species, particularly the giant kauri tree.

Auckland does the urban side of life just as well as it does adventure. America's Cup activity has added an infusion of exciting new restaurants and bars.

A reputation for great art and fashion makes Auckland a shopper's paradise. Local theatre and live music gigs are another opportunity to discover the creative side of New Zealand culture.
