Accommodation Te Puna

Accommodation Te Puna is our Tauranga holiday park and motel, which offers a choice of accommodation to suit all needs and budgets.

Only ten minutes to the town centre, our Tauranga motel is situated in a central horticultural area surrounded by garden centres, orchards and many beautiful scenic reserves.

Being in the heart of the central North Island, many other areas are easily accessible from our Tauranga motel:

• 20 minutes to Tauranga Airport, beaches at Mt Maunganui, mural town of Katikati
• 30 minutes to kiwi fruit centre at Te Puke
• One hour to Hamilton, and geysers at Rotorua

Our Tauranga Accommodation Options

Guests staying with us can choose to stay in either:

Our Tauranga Motel Accommodation – One and two-bedroom family-size units—two with spa baths, one with wheelchair access. Studio units are also available at our Tauranga motel.

Our Tauranga Holiday Park – Two-bedroom chalets including kitchen and bathroom, one wheelchair access chalet, powered sites and a backpackers lodge. When possible, we also provide a courtesy van.

Our Motel in Tauranga

Our Tauranga motel units all carry an above average Qualmark rating of 4 stars and are fully self contained with a kitchen and bathroom.

All units are serviced daily, and we can happily deliver a cooked or continental breakfast to you in the morning.

Chalets – We have six Chalets on site. Each is fully self contained with kitchen and bathroom facilities and each has two bedrooms and sleep six people in comfort. All beds are made up. You provide your own towels.

Cabins – We have three basic cabins. The beds are made up. Guests have access to our joint facilities

Backpacker Accommodation – Our Backpacker Lodge is the ideal spot for sports teams and larger groups of people.

All of our rooms are light and spacious with comfortable bunk beds and customers have access to our joint facilities. All beds are made up. You provide your own towels.

Powered Sites – We have 12 powered sites at present, which are located in our Tauranga holiday park with access to our joint facilities.

Bay of Plenty Region

The thousands of visitors who were once lured to the Bay of Plenty by its beautiful beaches are now discovering Tauranga as a cosmopolitan lifestyle city where they can enjoy first-rate cuisine and local wines in any of the many cafes and restaurants.

Across the harbour from Tauranga is Mount Maunganui—a volcanic cone on the end of a huge sand spit. The deep blue of the Pacific Ocean stretches as far as the eye can see, the vista interrupted only by surfers, wind surfers, small islands and boats carrying keen anglers in search of the stuff fishing legends are made of. There's enormous scope here for adventure seekers.

On the journey east you'll encounter Te Puke, the kiwi fruit capital of New Zealand. Then it's on to the town of Whakatane and White Island, one of the most accessible active volcanoes in the world. Steam billows from its main crater and spurts of ash keep things interesting for visitors.

At Tauranga and Mount Maunganui you'll find a brilliant combination of beach adventure and indulgent relaxation:

• Catch a fishing charter to the marlin waters of Mayor Island (Tuhua)
• Have a dolphin encounter
• Sample award winning wines at local wineries
• Try skydiving or para-sailing, or zoom down a dirt track luge
• Walk around the base of Mount Maunganui Mauao or hike the 1.5km to its volcanic cone summit
• Relax at the Mount Maunganui Hot Salt Water Pools

New Zealand Highlights

Split into two main islands, and roughly the same size as Great Britain, New Zealand is a country of diverse geographical features, from lush rainforests to vast alpine chains, steaming volcanoes and sweeping coastlines.

New Zealand's largest city, Auckland, has a population of just over one million people and is located near the top of the North Island, flanked by the Waitemata and Manukau harbours.

The country's capital city, Wellington, at the southern end of the North Island boasts around 400 cafes and restaurants. The main city in the South Island is Christchurch, often referred to as the Garden City thanks to its many spectacular public gardens.

The North Island is a land of geothermal activity, golden beaches and sub-tropical rainforests, and its climate makes for a year-round destination. Geysers, mud pools, and live volcanoes are found throughout the region. At the heart of the North Island is Lake Taupo, the result of volcanic eruptions over two thousand years ago.

The South Island is a land of geographic extremes, from the imposing snow-capped mountains of the Southern Alps, to vast plains, glacial-fed lakes and stunning coastal fiords. Mt Cook, New Zealand's highest mountain is located here, flanked by the Tasman Glacier. Much of the island is densely forested.
