The Gardeners Paradise tour lets you visit some of our famous gardening attractions:
Ayrlies Garden – A 15-acre garden established in the 1960s. What was originally a bare paddock has been energetically sculptured into sweeping lawns, detailed plantings, ponds and waterways. Featured on the BBC show “Around the World in 80 Gardens”, this is one of the major gardens worldwide.
Haunui Farm – The growth of ancient flora such as totaras, rimus, puriris and nikau provide a lush native-bush background to the garden, and the working areas of the thoroughbred stud at Haunui Farm. Horses are available for viewing by request on the stable lawn as well.
Whitford Bird Garden – An aviary of native and exotic plants, birds and reptiles. This spectacular walk-through aviary environment, unique to New Zealand and featuring exotic ducks, ornamental pheasants and finches from around the world, includes the rare and the beautiful.
