Our luxury Bay of Islands beach house enjoys a reputation as one of the very few “absolute beachfront” exclusive retreats in New Zealand. The breathtaking location and innovative architecture are as unique as they are alluring.

Situated in the pristine sub-tropical Northern region of the country, the magnificence of this 21st century design is the way it reflects and assimilates with the spectacular environment in which it resides—the beach, the islands and the ocean.

Completed with meticulous attention to detail, this stunning sun-drenched Bay of Islands beach house comprises a guest wing of three double en suite bedrooms featuring king-size beds and luxurious furniture and fittings.

Modern and subtle coastal styles prevail throughout, with generous open plan lounge and dining areas spilling effortlessly onto spacious balconies. All overlook the private horseshoe shaped Rapaki Bay and the Mahinepua Peninsula scenic reserve with the Cavalli Islands beyond.

Our Luxury Accommodation in the Bay of Islands

There are three levels to our luxury Bay of Islands beach house.

The lower level is the guest wing, which offers three rooms in which guests have complete privacy, with access to the bay and beach only twenty meters stroll from your room. You can hear the sound of the waves on the pebble beach as you fall asleep.

Each bedroom features a king-size bed, complimentary refreshment bar and a generous en-suite designed so that as you shower you can see the sea. Bi-fold doors open out onto the spacious balcony, bringing the breathtaking ocean view right into your room.

The middle floor contains the main kitchen, dining and meeting areas. The top floor is the hosts own private Bay of Islands luxury accommodation which means that you can have as much or as little contact with them as you require.

The Ocean Suite – Has all the facilities of an apartment and is the perfect option if you are staying for a longer period and wish to stretch out a little with lots of privacy.

In addition to the complimentary bottle of bubbly, stocked refrigerator and kitchenette to prepare light snacks (which are standard to all rooms), the Ocean Suite offers television, CD player, library and dining table.

Once you have booked the Ocean Suite, that area becomes exclusive to your use.

On the other hand, if a party of two or three couples book out the Ocean Suite and standard rooms, the lower lounge can become another private meeting area.

The fragile connections we have with nature were very much in mind when our Bay of Islands luxury accommodation was created. The architectural process concentrated on examining the links between the environment and the design, bringing the two together in a meaningful way. It is by no accident we have created an atmosphere of belonging and relaxation which is stunningly different and always celebrated by our guests.

We never own the land. We are merely caretakers for following generations. We aim to preserve existing aspects of the environment and, where possible, improve it through bio sustainable techniques.

Massage Therapy at our Luxury Accommodation in the Bay of Islands

The Cavalli Beach House Retreat offers guests the services of sought after massage therapist, Tamara Guretzki RN, BScN, Hbt. Cert Massage. A qualified registered nurse, over the years Tamara has practiced many different massage techniques.

Tamara has recently returned from Thailand where she attended courses to become qualified in this ancient area of massage.
