Cape Estate Introduction

Cape Estate is our luxury Hawkes Bay lodge retreat, situated on a 1,000-acre farm on the rolling downs surrounding the coastal village of Te Awanga. Our luxury accommodation in Hawkes Bay is a family homestead owned by Chris and Marki Nilsson who live in Cambridge, New Zealand.

The property is looked after by one of their four sons—Matthew and his wife, Amy.

This luxury Hawkes Bay lodge is private, tranquil and calm—peaceful, yet close to the buzz of wineries, restaurants, golf courses, Napier City, and the many local activities on offer.

Cape Estate becomes a fabulous venue for weddings and special events—a Moroccan tent being one of the ideas to work with, a unique addition to a great party.

Te Awanga has always been a popular holiday retreat destination for both local Hawkes Bay residents and tourists from around the world.

Luxury Hawkes Bay Lodge Accommodation

This luxury Hawkes Bay lodge is fully equipped for up to 12 guests:

• Two super-king or twin en suite bedrooms in homestead
• One super-king en suite bedroom in separate 'garden courthouse'
• One double, and two single-rooms with shared bathroom upstairs
• Additional queen sofa-bed in games room with own bathroom
• Cotton bed linen and towels
• Hairdryers and toiletries

Full catering may be arranged with prior notice, or meals can be prepared and left in the refrigerator to be heated as required. Room servicing is available at our Hawkes Bay lodge.

The house opens out onto a lovely sunny outdoor living area with its own large table setting for up to 15 people, with easy chairs for casual entertaining and beautiful views over looking vineyards, the sea and Napier.

Immerse yourself in the Hawkes Bay lifestyle and explore at your own pace, a region that has something for every guest. Here is a taste of some of the many attractions close by:

• Cape Estate is bounded by both the Kim Crawford winery and the Clearview winery and restaurant
• For those seeking the ultimate golf experience, the challenging new Cape Kidnappers golf course is one of the most exciting courses in the Southern Hemisphere. This golf course gateway is also only a half mile down the road
• Gannet Safaris leave from just half a mile down the road giving you a chance to see the wonderful Cape Kidnappers golf course as you drive across the 5,000-acre property to the Gannet colony, looking out over the Pacific Ocean
• Napier's colourful inner harbour boasts facilities for sailing, fishing charters, along with great bars and restaurants
• Napier with its famous Art Deco walks is 15 minutes away

The Hawkes Bay region is full of award winning restaurants cafés and wineries, many with wonderful cuisine. There are also some wonderful art galleries located in Napier and Havelock North.

Good swimming beaches are available both in close proximity to Cape Estate and also within a half hour drive for long sandy beaches.
