The Top House Introduction

The Top House is a spacious self-contained holiday home offering you Lake Taupo luxury accommodation. Our luxury Taupo holiday home looks out over Lake Taupo, commanding spectacular views of the lake and the mountains of the Central Plateau.

The Top House Lake Taupo luxury accommodation is part of The Point, a private residential estate, 10 kilometres from Taupo township.

The architecturally award-winning house, designed by Fraser Cameron in 2002, is an airy, inviting home.

Our luxury accommodation in Taupo features: four double bedrooms,
three bathrooms and an additional toilet, a games room, laundry, well-appointed kitchen, open-plan dining and living with an additional living room on the lower floor. Two large hardwood decks lead off the main living room and out to the native garden.

The house comfortably sleeps 12—the second living room converting to a double bedroom if required, and the games room can also provide extra bed space.

Upstairs the Top House has one double bedroom with en suite (shower and bath), two double bedrooms with one connecting bathroom (shower), and an additional toilet.

Downstairs at our luxury Taupo holiday home is one double bedroom and one bathroom (shower), with the option of turning the downstairs living room into another double bedroom.

The games room can also accommodate two people. All rooms have expansive mountain and lake views. All beds can be made up as super-king or king-single.

We provide all linen and towelling. We also provide the necessary soaps etc for the initial part of your stay.

Facilities at our Lake Taupo Luxury Accommodation

All living rooms at The Top House have gorgeous views of Lake Taupo. They provide generous and handsome areas for entertaining, with the main living room leading out to decks both front and back of the house.

In winter fires can be lit to complement the heat pumps. Downstairs is a second, large living room which looks out over the bush to the lake. Children can spread out in the games room.

The contemporary kitchen of our holiday home in Taupo includes dishwasher, double ovens, quality crockery, cutlery and glassware, table-mats, microwave etc. The house has satellite digital television, a stereo, DVD player and wireless Internet.

On the garden deck there is a large gas barbecue, with deck furniture on both the lakeside and garden decks.

The framing of native bush guarantees the private enjoyment of this special holiday home by Lake Taupo.

Activities in Taupo

Lake Taupo is the perfect year-round destination and the Top House is perfectly situated to take in the sights and activities of the central North Island.

The vineyards of Hawke's Bay are an hour and a half drive away, as are the ski fields of Whakapapa and Turoa. Rotorua is just 45 minutes away. In the immediate vicinity are a number of world-renown international golf-courses, lake and fly-fishing, outdoor adventures, and, of course, countless water activities in summer.

The Point amenities include two floodlit tennis courts, two boat ramps, excellent fly-fishing within five minute's walk from the house (tutoring and guiding and local knowledge is available), bush walks and access to beaches, and a sheltered harbour providing excellent safe swimming for children.

All these factors make The Top House the perfect place for special anniversaries, reunions, corporate retreats—and for those straight-up happy New Zealand-style family holidays.
