Lake Tekapo Cottages offer cottage and holiday home style accommodation in their Lake Tekapo vacation homes.

All our separate, self-contained, secluded cottages and vacation homes at Lake Tekapo are situated near the lake and the shops, nestled in a large garden amidst mature trees. A rarity in Lake Tekapo.

All our accommodation at Lake Tekapo has a rural outlook and degree of privacy not obtainable in a hotel or motel. The cottages are self-contained, and sleep two to eight people. Full linen is supplied.

The Eastwing and Rowan each have a wood burner, firewood and sundecks to relax on. If you are looking for older style high country accommodation, with modern amenities in the Mackenzie High Country, you have come to the right place.

Aorangi Holiday Home – This comfortably furnished and warm home offers four bedrooms, two of which have queen beds and two twin bedrooms. A large bright kitchen, open plan dinning and living area assures you of a comfortable stay.

The bathroom has a bath and separate shower. The house also offers huge partially covered sundeck with well maintained spar.

The house has good lake views and stunning views to the nearby mountains. The shops and restaurants are nearby but the house is situated in a safe quiet area. A sheltered BBQ area and safe off street parking, make this home the ideal place to spend a few days.

The Pines Cottage – Two fully self-contained units joined in the middle with a kitchen. The two en suite studios can be rented together, to make a two bedroom unit or separately, with or without the kitchen.

Each unit has its own bathroom. This flexibility provides very comfortable accommodation for either small families or individual couples. Good sound insulation and the kitchen between the two units provide for peace and privacy.

The kitchen can be rented for either unit because of the lock up arrangements. Furnished to a high standard, well insulated and heated, the two units offer a comfortable stay for one or multiple nights.

At 3,754 metres Mount Cook (its Maori name is Aoraki) is New Zealand's highest mountain. It towers above a splendid cast of massive snow-clad peaks that make up Mount Cook National Park. Nudging one side of Mt Cook is the mighty Tasman Glacier, a 30 kilometre giant and one of the longest outside the Himalayas.

Mount Cook village is an easy five-hour drive from Christchurch. We recommend visitors take the route from Christchurch to Fairlie, gateway to the Mackenzie Country. From here the road passes through a land of lakes, vast open spaces and golden, tussock-covered hills rolling towards the towering Southern Alps.

On the way you will pass turquoise glacial lakes such as Lake Tekapo, on whose shores is the stone Church of the Good Shepherd, which has a spectacular view of the Southern Alps framed by its altar window.

Scenic flights from Lake Tekapo and Mount Cook afford breathtaking views over the Southern Alps and countryside, with ski-plane landings on the Tasman Glacier providing an unforgettable experience. All ski options are available, including heli-skiing and ski touring, and guides are available for climbing.

Glorious mountain walks to suit every degree of fitness show off the park's rich flora, including the Mount Cook "lily", the largest buttercup in the world.

It will take about one hour and twenty minutes to drive to Mt Cook, Christchurch is about three hours away, driving the Inland Scenic Route, and Queenstown takes about two and a half hours:
