Comfort and iconic kiwi architecture join forces at John's House to offer guest Havelock North accommodation with unique Hawke's Bay character and charm.
Set on the Karamu Stream boundary at the end of a short no exit road, John's House is the perfect spot to relax in rural peace and quiet. The expansive lawns provide a fantastic venue for marquee functions like weddings, reunions, birthday celebrations, anniversaries etc.
Our holiday house in Hawke's Bay is just a 20-minute drive from Hawke's Bay Airport and Napier City and only minutes from Hastings City and Havelock North Village, it is a fabulous base from which to explore the many attractions the region has to offer.
John's House is so named as a tribute to two great guys. Architect John Scott who designed this small masterpiece, and John Pattison, decorated WWII spitfire pilot and HB identity, who happily lived here for 20 years.

Wineries - Havelock North is situated at the heart of Hawke's Bay's viticulture industry. Visitors are only a short drive from close to 40 top wineries, and wine tasting at the cellar door can be enjoyed all year round.
Te Mata Peak - Dominating the skyline above Havelock North is Te Mata Peak, which rises 399 majestic metres above sea level. The peak dominates the fertile plains and provides panoramic views across to Mahia, the ski slopes of Mt Ruapehu and out towards the Ruahine Ranges.
Farmers Markets - Food lovers will be in heaven when they visit the local Farmers Markets in nearby Hastings and Havelock North.

Hawke's Bay is loved for its sunny climate, fabulous beaches, sheltered coastal plains and long-established vineyards. It is also one of the country's largest pip fruit growing areas.
The Hawke's Bay vineyards are all within a short distance of Napier and Hastings, the other city in the region. More than 30 vineyards are open to the public for wine tasting.
You can also find plenty of adventure in Hawke's Bay - rafting on the Mohaka River, horse trekking, hunting and trout fishing.
