About Northland and Whangarei
The region of Northland stretches north from Auckland, towards the warm waters of Polynesia, the ancestral home of New Zealand's first inhabitants.
The relaxed and sunny lifestyle of Northland arises from its subtropical climate and the myriad of beautiful islands, bays and beaches around the coastline.
Much of Northlands' extensive coastline remains unspoilt—an aquatic playground for adventure and escapist relaxation. Whangarei and Opua are renowned throughout the Pacific as attractive havens for yachts.
At Whangarei Falls, you can see the waterfall that's often called the 'most photogenic waterfall in New Zealand'. Drive further to Whangarei Heads and the Bream Head Scenic Reserve for outstanding walks and breathtaking panoramic coastal and harbour views.
