Charlemagne Lodge Introduction

Charlemagne Lodge is a taste of the past with all the conveniences of the present. The elegant Victorian house is a landmark building, offering luxury Bay of Plenty lodge accommodation on an elevated site over looking the adjoining I'Anson nature reserve and lake.

Our luxury lodge in Tauranga is situated in the sunny Bay of Plenty, renowned for its high sunshine hours, stunning beaches and beautiful countryside.

This haven of tranquility is only two hours from Auckland, and 45 minutes from the Maori heartland of Rotorua, making it a perfect touring base.

Our spectacular Bay of Plenty lodge, with its many original period features, offers exceptional accommodation, and the perfect backdrop for wedding photographs.

The attractive function centre in the grounds of our Tauranga lodge, with its large patio and pond, provides the ideal venue for any special occasion and can accommodate up to 120 guests.

Bay of Plenty Lodge Accommodation

Our luxury lodge in Tauranga has many original Victorian features, and each room is decorated in a style sympathetic to the Victorian era.

The downstairs area of our Tauranga lodge features kauri floors and kitchen, a comfortable lounge with open fire, dining area and generous balconies with access to the extensive grounds and gardens.

We have three guest rooms in our Bay of Plenty lodge, one of which is on the ground floor.

Rooms are decorated in gorgeous tones to compliment the décor and style of the house, including some beautiful examples of stained glass throughout our Bay of Plenty lodge.

The principle master suite features an en suite bathroom with claw foot bath, and direct access to the extensive balconies. Adjoining the suite is a lounge with doors to the turret area, where breakfast can be enjoyed together with spectacular views of the reserve and surrounding countryside.

The comfortable king size canopy bed in this room is a favourite with many guests.

The second master suite is on the ground floor of our Tauranga lodge. This suite offers a gorgeous, private bathroom with many Victorian period features including a roll top bath, fittings and fixtures and also features a stunning antique bathroom cabinet and stained glass windows.

The elegant décor is also very Victorian in hues of blue and white. The room rate includes a continental breakfast.

The third room at our luxury lodge in the Bay of Plenty has two single beds. This twin room has a private bathroom and is perfect for family members or members of the bridal party. A continental breakfast is also included in the rate for the room.

This room is also decorated in Victorian theme with two comfortable single beds looking out onto the rural panoramic views and onto the Kaimai Ranges beyond.

Special Occasions – The lodge can also be used for small private dinner parties, for up to 12 guests, for which we are happy to arrange catering to your taste and budget. From murder mystery dinners to corporate entertaining we will be delighted to discuss your requirements.

The function centre can be used for larger events, of any type, from team building to product launches.

Weddings at our Bay of Plenty Luxury Lodge

A complete wedding service is available, and your event coordinator will arrange everything down to the last detail. We can do as much or as little as you would like.

We offer a beautiful backdrop for your Bay of Plenty wedding. The lodge is available for your photos inside or out. The adjoining scenic reserve lets guests stroll around and is ideal for wedding photos, as is the adjoining orchard.

The Kaimai ranges in the background and the rural outlook in the foreground make for a panoramic setting. In the evening, enjoy the majestic sunset over the ranges to the west.

The large patio area lends itself to casual BBQ events whilst the function room has plenty of space for a more formal wedding breakfast or dinner with seating for up to 120 guests.

Waiting and bar staff are provided, and our fully licensed premises allows us to offer you a full range of bar options. Parking is easy and access is convenient.

Catering options are also wide to fit any taste, from buffet to full silver service dinners. We can offer assistance in sourcing everything from the Celebrant to the DJ we can even arrange it all for you.
