Te Anau Lodge Introduction
We are delighted to offer you a unique opportunity to come and stay with us here at Te Anau Lodge, our lovingly restored former convent.
At our Te Anau bed and breakfast we have endeavoured to create an atmosphere which is homely, warm and inviting, where you can relax and unwind.
Built in 1936, and more recently relocated to Te Anau from nearby Nightcaps, our Te Anau bed and breakfast is a former Sisters of Mercy Convent and still retains much of its original décor. Built and decorated in 1930s style the lodge boasts beautiful wooden floors and walls made from native New Zealand timbers. Fascinating relics of the Te Anau accommodation's former life as a convent can also be found throughout.
Our Te Anau accommodation is positioned at the northern end of Te Anau Township, surrounded by breathtaking lake and mountain views. The location of the lodge is quiet and tranquil, yet only 15 minutes walk to the town centre.
Breakfast is included with your night's accommodation. You can relax in our Chapel and enjoy a leisurely continental and/or cooked breakfast, including plenty of fresh home-made goodies.
Our Te Anau Accommodation
At Te Anau Lodge we have a variety of different rooms for you to choose from.
Our deluxe double rooms feature huge beds, beautiful mountain and lake views and large spa baths for you to relax in following your busy day of activities.
Our standard doubles with en suite are very cosy and comfortable rooms—some with lake views and some with mountain views.
We also are able to provide accommodation in single, twin and triple configurations.
For your comfort, every bedroom is centrally heated with a luxurious bed and 'heaps' of sumptuous pillows to ensure a peaceful night's sleep after your day of travelling or adventuring.
Our modern bathrooms are fitted with under-floor heating, warmed towel rails and fresh fluffy towels to ensure that you will be toasty on even the coldest and wettest of Te Anau days.
You may wish to unwind in Te Anau Lodge's library, with wonderful views of Lake Te Anau and the Murchison Mountains—home of the Takahe—one of New Zealand's rarest and most elusive birds. Tea and coffee are always available along with fresh cakes and home baking.
