The Ash Grove is the only Qualmark-rated motel in Haruru Falls and was the first business in the area to achieve a Qualmark Enviro Bronze accreditation, which shows our commitment to the environment and sustainable tourism.

Paihia Motel Lodge Accommodation

We offer completely refurbished, fully self-contained, well-equipped studio and one-bedroom units, opening onto landscaped gardens with a superb swimming pool and spa.

There are four spacious studio units with queen-size beds around the pool area. Two further stand-alone studio cottages are located about 20 metres from the others, one of which is a lovely 'Honeymoon Hideaway'.

One-bedroom units have a separate double bedroom with queen-size bed. The lounge area has two single beds and can accommodate a maximum of four people.

The Ash Grove Boutique Motel is smoke free inside the units.

About Paihia, Bay of Islands

The coastal town of Paihia and its surrounding area is an excellent base for exploring the whole area. Take a cruise around the Bay of Islands, taking in the Hole in the Rock, or go off on a swim with the dolphins package.

Any of these activities, including a coach trip up to Cape Reinga via 90 Mile Beach, can be booked by us at the motel.

About the Bay of Islands

Towns in the Bay of Islands are steeped in the area's history. Visit the relics of the past, both European and Maori. Nearby Waitangi is the place where both Maori and Europeans joined in the signing of the Treat of Waitangi in 1840.

Wander though the peaceful National Trust Estate and see the beautiful Treaty house, one of the largest Maori war canoes and a lovely visitor centre.

If you fancy some exercise after lunch, you can walk or kayak to Haruru Falls. The waterfall is in a rare horseshoe shape and is about 800 metres from the Ash Grove Boutique Motel. The walking track between Waitangi and Haruru Falls is partly a boardwalk over mangroves.
