Accessible Accommodation Unit – Our two bedroom wheelchair accessible unit is specially prepared for our mobility impaired guests. The room is fully equipped with all the essentials to allow you to enjoy your stay, including a fully equipped kitchen and separate bathroom with shower seat and grab handles.

There is a queen bed in the first bedroom and two singles in the other as well as a double sofa bed in the lounge with TV, and of course in room WiFi. There is a parking space right outside the unit and the walk down to the beach is reasonably flat and just 100 metres away. Our short driveway is gently sloping and if you have any other special requirements, please just ask when booking and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

All units at our Paihia motel are serviced daily and each has a kitchen/kitchenette.

About the Bay of Islands

The Bay of Islands, the tourism hub of Northland, is only three hours or 235km from Auckland. Paihia is a great place from which to explore the Bay or to simply relax and unwind. Visitors will love Paihia's long sandy beach, excellent visitor facilities and short history trail along the waterfront.

Like all of Northland, the Bay of Islands is blessed with a subtropical climate and beautiful countryside when viewed from sea, air or land! There are many water based activities on offer including sailing, diving, swimming with dolphins and game fishing. There are many water adventure operators based in Paihia. Nearby Opua is renowned as a haven for yachts.

Across the water from Paihia is the historic town of Russell, New Zealand's first capital. Have a drink at the Duke of Marlborough and watch the ferry from Paihia come and go. The Duke was the first licensed establishment in New Zealand.
