Allow us to welcome you to Ahipara Bay Motel, our Northland beachfront motel, and the area of Ahipara in New Zealand's Far North. When visiting New Zealand, most people look at going to the better known areas like Queenstown, in the deep south, Fox Glacier and Franz Joseph Glacier on the west coast of the South Island and of course Taupo, Rotorua and Paihia (Bay of Islands), in the North Island.
We suggest you fit into your schedule a visit to New Zealand's Far North and our Northland coastal accommodation.
The Far North of New Zealand is known as the winterless north because of the sub tropical climate we enjoy. In the south it can be cold enough to go skiing, while the north is warm enough to surf.
Ahipara, a small coastal village nestled at the southern end of 90 Mile Beach is an ideal base for your far north adventure being just a four hour drive north of Auckland, New Zealand's largest city.
Our Northland coastal accommodation, which was formally known as the Adriaan Lodge Motel, has panoramic sea views over 90 Mile Beach, Shipwreck Bay and Tauroa (Reef) Point.
This Northland coastal accommodation has 11 units, with six of these being new luxury units and includes two with spa baths. We have studio, one bedroom and two bedroom units available, all serviced daily.

The Northland area boasts a variety of activities to suit young and old alike.
Tours – A number of tours are available including tours to Cape Reinga and 4x4 adventure tours around reef point and the historic Ahipara Gumfields. Cape Reinga tours are a full day so allow that time in your schedule.
Horse Trekking – Catering for the novice to experienced riders, riding on the famous 90 Mile Beach and coastal farmland.
Land Sailing – Fun for all, from ages eight to 80 in small micro land-sailors on the beach.
Fishing – From the beach, rocks or by boat, fishing charters available including big game fishing in season. A local shellfish delicacy is tuatua, similar to a cockle, which are readily obtainable on the beach.
Golf – Ahipara has one of New Zealand's best 18-hole links courses. Situated alongside the beach it is not only challenging but very picturesque.
Hiking – There are a number of areas and tracks for hikers of all levels.
Wine tasting – Northland has an increasing number of vineyards and wineries to tempt the taste buds. Okahu Estate is only 10 kilometres from Ahipara and is one of the longest established in the Far North.
Surfing – The Ahipara Bay Motel overlooks Tauroa Point and Shipwreck Bay considered as many to be one of the worlds best left-hand point break and made famous in the cult surf movie, Endless Summer.
