A short distance from the central business district (approximately one kilometre) Baycrest is ideally situated at 79 Mere Road, being elevated and one back from the Lakefront for quietness, with close proximity to top class restaurants, café's, shopping and activities.
Constructed of insulated hot block and quality fixtures and fittings, together with a full thermal central heating system, guests are offered a warm and relaxing experience at our luxury hotel in Taupo.
A complete refurbishment designed by Sandy and Interior Designer Tracey Beaumont-Orr, completed in October 2004, has set standards second to none in motel style accommodation.
Six ground floor, including two accessible one-room apartments with super-king beds, private courtyards and private thermal tubs that guests fill to their requirements with 50°C thermal water extracted from the ground.
Two ground floor executive two-room suites with a queen-size bed in a spacious lounge area and two super-king singles in the bedroom. These singles can easily be arranged into a super king configuration if required. These units also have courtyards and private thermal tubs.
The same configuration is replicated in the upstairs units, except as an alternative to thermal tubs; these first floor rooms have Champagne spa baths to all bathrooms, private balconies and superior lake and mountain views.
There is a luxury two-bedroom apartment with full kitchen, separate dining and lounge areas opening out to private patio overlooking complex and pool area.
Superior three double bedroom penthouse apartment with one bathroom plus a spacious en suite to master bedroom including double vanity, large champagne spa bath. A walk-in wardrobe compliments the master bedroom. This apartment has a very spacious living area with the lounge opening out to a private patio overlooking the complex, pool area and Lake Taupo.
All Units – All units within our Lake Taupo motels have kitchen facilities containing ceramic hotplates and microwaves with two of the bigger units offering a full oven option. Fridges to all units provide the guest, with a long stay option.
Super-king, queen or twin super-king singles give guests plenty of choice to suit the make up of their party. Rollaway/foldaway beds are available on request. Porta-cots and highchairs are also available. Guests are asked to make any requests for extra beds or cots at time of reservation.
All units at these Lake Taupo motels are sporting state of the art LCD flat-screen TVs, guests entertainment needs, including Sky TV are well catered for. Internet facilities are available to all units within our luxury Taupo motels as well as bar and conservatory area.

The thermally heated 35°C swimming pool at our luxury Lake Taupo accommodation is a must for all travelers and holiday makers. The pool is set in a collection of native trees and shrubs, and is located right beside the guest bar for ease and comfort, a great place to relax, or maybe sooth the muscles after a day on the slopes or golf course.
The poolside guest bar at our Lake Taupo motels also offers a place to relax alone or with friends, maybe a cold beer or a glass of wine with a good book. It is a popular place with businesses willing to hire a small comfortable area for discrete meetings. Often used as a break room for morning teas and lunches for groups using Baycrest Lodge's fully equipped conference facilities.
