Our Lake Taupo Motel

We have 24 spacious spa studios, one-bedroom spa suites and a two-bedroom spa suite at our Lake Taupo motel. Every room is large and spacious, with the one-bedroom spa suites offering a separate bedroom and lounge. Every room has an en suite with a vanity and walk-in shower cubicle.

Spa Studio – A spacious studio, with en suite bathroom, queen-size bed. Sleeps one to two people.

Twin Share Studio with Spa – A spacious studio, with en suite bathroom, queen-size and single beds. Sleeps one to three people.

One-Bedroom Spa Suite – A comfortable suite, consisting of a queen-size bed, and either one single or one double-bed, with en suite bathroom. Sleeps one to five people.

Two-Bedroom Spa Suite – A two-bedroom suite with both bedrooms separate from the living area and this can provide sleeping for up to six persons, as well as having two bathrooms, two kitchens and wheelchair access.

Taupo is a resort town at the north east end of Lake Taupo, New Zealand's largest lake. The lake and its tributary streams and rivers are stocked with large fighting rainbow and brown trout.

The Karaka Tree Motel is situated at 216 Lake Terrace (State Highway 1) across the road from Lake Taupo, New Zealand's largest lake. From the motel we have views of the lake and World Heritage Tongariro National Park.

About Taupo

Lake Taupo is a great vacation destination in both summer and winter. Trout fishing is a major attraction—it's now over 100 years since the first trout fry were released into the lake and today it is one of the last true wild trout fisheries in the world.

Skiing and adventure activities are other reasons to visit. And when you're not on the lake or up a mountain, you'll find the Taupo town centre crammed with cafes and interesting shops.
