Te Puia Springs Hotel Introduction

Te Puia Springs Hotel, our Te Puia Springs accommodation is situated on State Highway 35, 103 kilometres north of Gisborne.

Its old world charm and simplicity sets it apart from anything else on the coast. We have single, double and twin rooms at our Eastland accommodation, some with en suites. Tent and caravan sites also available on request.

At present we have one private hot pool—like a Roman Bath—with water that the DSIR (Department of Scientific and Industrial Research) says has the highest mineral content in the world.

We also have an art gallery with local artists on site, bush walks to view the natural hot springs, a garden bar and café.

The Hot Springs Café and Dining Room

The Hot Springs Café and Dining Room still retains some of its old world charm.

Breakfast is served between 8:00 am and 9:30 am with options ranging from a full cooked breakfast to coffee and toast.

Main meals are served from late afternoon with choices to suit everyones taste. Most meals are served with fresh salad available locally. Fresh seafood is also a speciality.

About Eastland

The east coast is best known for its high annual sunshine hours, stunning coastal scenery and glorious country gardens.

An area of high Maori population, it is one of the best places in the country to discover Maori heritage.

The region is also one of New Zealand's prime grape-growing regions, renowned for its Chardonnay wine.

Main Attractions and Activities

Gisborne is the first city in the world to welcome the new day. Its surf beaches and long hot summers have always attracted New Zealanders on holiday. The Gisborne area also has some of the country's best surviving carved Maori meeting houses and churches.

South-west of Gisborne is Te Urewera National Park, the largest wilderness area in the North Island, with magnificent walks and trails centred on beautiful Lake Waikaremoana.
