Our Taupo Helicopter Flights

Huka By Helicopter – 10 minutes, a helicopter roller coaster aerial trail of Taupo, showcasing the mighty Huka Falls.

Taste of Taupo – 30 minutes, our most popular flight! Huka Falls, Wairakei Park, Mount Tauhara, and the Aratiatia Rapids. Admire the view of Mt Tauhara before landing on one of our exclusive landing locations; the very active Lake Rotokawa.

Heritage Trail – 45 minutes, Huka Falls and Craters of the Moon begin the trail to Lake Taupo's Northern Bays and the Maori Rock Carvings. Fly inside the crater of Mount Tauhara before passing over the green waters of Lake Rotokawa to land and explore the geothermal activity.

Mountain Magic – 90 minutes, explore the magnificent Tongariro World Heritage Park. Where Mount Ruapehu's steaming crater awaits you amidst the snow-covered peaks on this truly magical experience. About Taupo

South of Rotorua, this region is centred on Lake Taupo, New Zealand's largest lake (619 square kilometres), and the township of Taupo in the scenic heart of the North Island.

One of the few outlets from Lake Taupo is the mighty Waikato River, New Zealand's longest river, which gushes through a narrow chasm at the Huka Falls.

The Taupo region incorporates the southern part of the thermal belt that extends from White Island in the Bay of Plenty through Rotorua to Tongariro National Park.

Hot springs appear in several places around the lake, which is actually a volcanic crater. Just north of Taupo, near the Wairakei International Golf Course, underground steam has been harnessed for electricity generation.
