The Pride of Auckland Introduction

The Pride of Auckland has four identical 50 foot yachts that have been providing world famous Auckland yacht charters and dining cruises on the Waitemata Harbour.

For over 25 years our boat charters in Auckland have been introducing the joy of sailing to guests of all ages from all over the world along with providing an excellent activity for experienced sailors.

Our blue and white striped sails are seen as the nautical icon on Auckland's harbour and are instantly recognisable.

Each yacht is crewed by a qualified Captain and Crew who ensure that all guests are well looked after and provide an informative commentary on the sights of Auckland and encourage guests to participate in steering the yachts and trimming the sails.

The Pride of Auckland is a Qualmark endorsed activity which credits our company as being a high quality activity for all visitors to Auckland, City of Sails.

As an added bonus we provide each of our guest's free entry to the NZ National Maritime Museum.

We are located through the entrance of the NZ National Maritime Museum on the corner of Quay and Hobson Streets Downtown Auckland.

Our Auckland Yacht Charters

The Daily scheduled service includes:

• Coffee Cruise (1.5 hours, NZ$70.00pp) includes tea, coffee and fresh muffins.
• Sailing Experience Cruise (45 minutes, NZ$60.00pp) excellent hands on sailing if you do not have a lot of time or are new to sailing.
• Lunch Cruise (1.5 hours, NZ$85.00pp) includes our fresh lunch tray.
• Dinner Cruise (2.5 hours, NZ$110.00pp) includes a three course seafood menu (alternatives on request).
• All cruises include free entry to the NZ National Maritime Museum.

Departure times can often be modified to meet your needs. Just ask us!

Guests can Charter any number of yachts from one hour to a whole day (no overnight service) for exclusive private parties, match racing, corporate team building, sight seeing trips or for pure and simple fun!

The yachts area of operations is generally constrained only by the length of charter and the weather prevailing at the time of the event, and departure times for the vessels are arranged to suit.

This is an excellent option for group entertainment.

Vessels on our Auckland Yacht Charters

Monohull Yachts, Sailboats or Sloops.

Each of the four 15 metre Yachts were each built from the same mould. They are named Challenger, Courageous, Defender and Defiance.

They were purpose designed and built in 1986 to provide:

• Dining afloat and sailing experiences
• Match racing events
• Corporate and charter sailing

They comfortably accommodate 21 passengers in the cockpits of each, giving a maximum capacity for each sailing experience of 84 passengers. For dining, Challenger and Courageous can each seat 19 in the restaurant below, and Defender and Defiance 21 passengers each, totalling 80 passengers.
