Lake Taupo Fishing

Lake Taupo Fishing – Chris operates a fleet of five vessels on Lake Taupo. All vessels have a galley, flush toilets, bar facilities, lounge style seating, and all have fishing tackle provided. Two vessels even offer guests the option of karaoke.

Lake Taupo offers excellent trout fishing all year round and there is no closed season on the lake. Fishing on Lake Taupo takes the form of trolling with lures and flies, no form of bait fishing is permitted.

Fly Fishing in Taupo – The rivers around Taupo are world renowned for Rainbow Trout; Tongariro, Tauranga to Taupo, Waitahanui, Hinemaiaia, Waihaha and our own secret pools. The best times for fishing the Taupo rivers and streams is May – November, for wilderness back country fishing December – April.

Raft Fishing – Get to all those special pools that are not accessible any other way. Best time December – March.

Helicopter Wilderness Fishing – For the more experienced angler to enjoy the remoteness of our native bush and mountain ranges. Best times December – March.

Fly fishing expeditions can be arranged throughout the whole of New Zealand.

Taupo Boat Charters

We specialise in fishing, cruising, weddings, conferences, incentives, water sports and social functions. All our boats are equipped with galley, bar facilities, fishing gear, music systems, flush toilets, lounge style cabins and safety equipment.

We have five fabulous launches which allow you to enjoy lake fishing, wining, dining, clay bird shooting, and the option of having your freshly caught trout cooked on board. Our newest addition, the luxurious Iridium, offers a “Lodge on the Lake” experience with overnight packages to the beautiful Western Bays.

Hunting in Taupo

Hunt locally in Taupo for deer, boar, turkeys and waterfowl. We have exclusive hunting areas in the South Wairarapa that have an excellent population of red deer and no trophy fees!

We provide guides, accommodation and transport on our Taupo hunting trips. The best time to go hunting in Taupo is April to June.

Get yourself a “big tom”—turkey hunts organised around Taupo. Best time is August to October. We can hunt waterfowl such as wild duck, Canada geese and black swan, just check the season.
