Kelly Tarlton's is a world-first, uniquely New Zealand Pacific and Southern Oceans experience that showcases a variety of amazing marine life. Built beneath the ground against Auckland's beautiful Eastern Bays, Kelly Tarlton's is a must-see Auckland attraction.

The Antarctic Encounter is an experience full of exciting opportunities to explore the wilds of the Antarctic. Retrace the footsteps of intrepid explorer Captain Robert Scott through a life-sized replica of his South Pole hut, then hop on board a snowcat and enjoy a ride through NZ's only colony of sub-Antarctic penguins.

Stingray Bay gives a tantalising glimpse at the magnificent creatures with their huge wingspan, then journey deep beneath New Zealand's oceans on a moving walkway through the Underwater World – with ferocious sharks and thousands of fish swimming above and around you. Fish Alley is home to a range of more tropical fish, and the Seahorse Kingdom is a magical home to seahorses from NZ and afar.

Our once in a lifetime experiences include snorkelling with amazing predators of the deep on a Shark Cage experience, or for the true adrenaline junkie, join Shark Survival – a cage-free shark dive.

Shark Survival – For those seeking the ultimate thrill, join our qualified divers on a Shark Survival adventure to see life through a shark's eye.

This cage-free dive in the predator tank will see you up close and personal with a variety of shark species as well as giant long-tailed stingray and other fish from New Zealand's coastal waters.

Shark Cage – The Shark Cage is partially submerged in our predator tank – home to School, Wobbegong, Broadnose Sevengill, and Sand Tiger sharks – so you're guaranteed to have a close encounter of the shark kind, every time.

Experienced guides and small groups guarantee a fun, memorable and personal encounter. We will team you up with our experienced dive professionals to guide you every step of the way.

They have a passion for marine life, a wealth of knowledge and a focus on conservation – so you're in good hands!

All equipment is supplied, but please bring swimwear for under your wetsuit, a towel and fully enclosed footwear.

General Information

• No special clothing is required as the Antarctic Snowcat is heated and the Underwater World is dry
• Photography is allowed but the use of flashes or spotlights in the direction of the animals is prohibited
• A range of refreshments is sold at our kiosk located in Stingray Bay, or you are welcome to bring your own
• Wheelchair and disabled access is provided throughout the attraction

Location

Kelly Tarlton's is just ten minutes' drive or six kilometres from the heart of Auckland. Free car parking is available in the Kelly Tarlton's car park and adjacent on Tamaki Drive.
