Expeditions—New Zealand Adventure Tours

Which of the 10 Flying Kiwi adventure tours to choose? You may opt for the Ultimate Explorer, the full-blown month-long gripping opportunity to get your teeth into points north, south, east and west of these two glorious islands.

Prefer something shorter? Check out the Grand Traverse or even a one-island trip like the Summer Blast. You may also want to extend your adventure or even take time out from your trip and take it up later.

Fully equipped or accompanied by only a touch of the daredevil spirit and a toothbrush, you can decide how to make this the best holiday ever.

Ultimate Explorer – Grab life with both hands with this in-depth, all-points-covered action and adventure wilderness experience (27/28 days).

Grand Traverse – Like the sound of the Ultimate Explorer, but don't have enough time? Start at Auckland and check out a good chunk of the country on a one way south-facing mission to incredible Queenstown (15 days).

Hot Rocks – The North Island loop that includes the thermal wonders of New Zealand's volcanic region. And like all our loops, you can choose where you start and finish (Nine to ten days).

Summer Blast – Explore the four corners of the 'Mainland' on this complete South Island round trip (16 or 17 days).

Northern Wanderer – Head north first to the beautiful Bay of Islands before turning around and heading south to Wellington via the high volcanic plateau of the North Island (Eight days).

Southern Light – Explore the east and southern South Island with the option of either the full trip from Nelson or Picton, to adventure capital Queenstown, or the shorter trip, which starts in Christchurch (Nine or ten days).

Northern Light – A one way journey south through the volcanic heart of the North Island, finishing in cosmopolitan Wellington (Five days).

Wild West – Wild is the operative word! Enjoy the incredible drama of the South Island's 'otherworldly' West Coast (Eight or nine days).

Beach It – Bring out the kid in you to build sandcastles and play on the golden beaches of New Zealand's far north (Three days).

Northern Express – Departing from Wellington's Central Railway station head directly to Taupo, famous for steamy hot pools, and the next day to Auckland via the Amazing Waitomo caves (Two days).

Flexibility – Think you might fall in love with somewhere that you can't quite bear to leave? We're romantics at heart so we've allowed for that too. Wave the bus off on its journey, take a break and then rejoin your Flying Kiwi adventure at any multiple of nine days later. (Shorter breaks available in December, January and February).

Whatever you choose we can help you with planning and equipment. It's best to arrange your stopover in advance to reserve your place back on the bus. There is no extra cost for this. If you change your plans after you have booked we charge a transfer fee of just NZ$25.
