Travelling Light Photography offers guided photography tours throughout New Zealand and Australasia.

Travelling Light Photography specialises in creating photography tours for small groups—a maximum of four people.

Tours are led by professional photographer Marcus Adams, a commercial photographer who has extensively travelled throughout New Zealand and the world.

Your tour can include the North Island, South Island or further afield to Australia; just tell us what you would like to do and we will create a tour to meet your needs and budget. From a day to a month or longer and any duration in between!

We can collect you from your cruise ship, from Wellington airport, the ferry terminals or anywhere else in New Zealand.

Our aim is to take care of all of the hassles you might associate with travelling in another country so that you are free to concentrate on photography and enjoy your time. As part of your tour with us, we book accommodation, travel and other necessary arrangements.

We specialise in accommodating our clients' requirements no matter how challenging they may be. Private air transport from one luxury lodge to another? Not a problem. Fish and chips alone on the beach? Not a problem. Want to stay on an iconic New Zealand High Country sheep station? Not a problem. Private vineyard tour with the winemaker? Just tell us what you would like.

Photographic subjects might include city highlights, Alpine scenery, wildlife, coastal scenery, Maori culture, farming landscapes, vineyards and wine making. Tours are fully guided using our own 4x4 transport and can be of any duration from half a day to a week or much longer. Standard itineraries can be found on our website along with a wealth of other information about our trips.

En route we will see many aspects of New Zealand life that are so easily missed unless travelling with a local. If you have particular photography techniques you want to improve, we can work on those together as the trip progresses.

Our bespoke trips are very special. Every aspect of your tour is discussed at length with you. We make suggestions (many of which you won't find in the guidebooks) to enhance your itinerary and arrange every aspect of the tour to reflect your creative desires and your budget.

Non-photographers are also well catered for. We can arrange activities for partners or friends who prefer to occupy themselves in a different way (e.g. wine tasting, art trails, bush walking, body treatments, tennis, golf, shopping etc.). As part of your tour, you can also stay on our peaceful 18-acre olive grove—Akrotiri Estate.

We have extensive contacts and can also arrange other activities for you, such as skiing, hunting and fishing trips whilst you are in New Zealand.
