Knightrider Bus Services LTD is based in Christchurch New Zealand and since 2000 has been involved with providing a friendly, convenient, quality South Island shuttle service between Christchurch and Dunedin.

The comfort and safety of our passengers are our priority and at our South Island bus service we go the extra mile just for you! Our guarantee is that "If we are unable to get you to your destination, we will refund your fare in full".

Until further notice, our South Island bus service will operate Christchurch to Dunedin return from Sunday to Friday.

Our bus service caters to a wide clientele base from international travellers, students, work commuters and holiday makers.

Knightrider overnight travel is the easiest way to meet the early morning flights out of Christchurch and we can advise you on connecting travel services to Nelson, Picton and the West Coast.

With prior notification we can assist you with arranging accommodation in Christchurch and Dunedin, or any other of the main stops on our route.

Our South Island Shuttle Service Fleet

Knightrider Bus Service aims to provide an as comfortable ride as possible.

To this end we have reduced the seating so as to give as much legroom as possible combined with reclining seats.

All our South Island bus service vehicles are subject to a strict maintenance and safety regime.

Our buses have:

• Air conditioning
• Reading lights
• Reclining seats
• Seat belts

DVD entertainment is also available on our South Island bus service.

There is limited room available for bikes, boards and skis (all at extra cost and prior notification essential).

Luggage allowance is one backpack or suitcase (25kg max) per person plus personal carry-on items. Excess baggage and freight will be chargeable at NZ$5 minimum per item.

KnightRider is also available for charter work for parties up to 20. Please contact us for further information.

About the South Island

The South Island is the largest of the two main islands of New Zealand, and as its name indicates, is the southern-most of the two islands. It has an area of 151,215 square kilometres (58,093 square miles), making it the 12th largest island in the world.

The island was named 'Te Waka a Maui' by the Maori as according to legend, the South Island is 'Maui's Canoe' that he used to fish the North Island out of the sea from. It is also known by the Maori as 'Te Wai Pounamu' meaning 'The Waters of Greenstone'.

The largest city in the South Island is Christchurch, known as the 'Garden City' because of its many stunningly beautiful gardens, and its tree-lined streets. Queenstown is also found in the South Island of New Zealand, world famous as a premier four-season retreat.
