Sunlover Retreat awarded for Service Excellence 2017
Sunlover Retreat was honoured in front of tourism industry members at the Coromandel Tourism Awards, held recently at new Tairua Marina and Bar . The annual awards showcase hosted by Destination Coromandel acknowledged Sunlover Retreat with a Service Excellence Award.
“There is nothing better than being awarded a service excellence award by our peers.” Said Donna Brooke, owner of Sunlover Retreat.
Four years ago when her and husband Chris created their luxury B&B in Tairua, their vision was to create a home they could share with others, offering guests the experience of “staying with locals”.
Their commitment to offering a memorable visitor experience to every Sunlover guest has launched them into the coveted top 1% of all TripAdvisor’s businesses in the world, under the Accommodation, B&B area with a 2017 Traveller’s Choice award. The Coromandel Annual Tourism awards are based on national service awards, including Service IQ and TripAdvisor Top 10 Rankings in New Zealand.
They were also picked up by Lonely Planet and feature in their 2017 New Zealand guide. “We are delighted to learn that Sunlover Retreat has been included in the printed edition of 2017’s Lonely Planet New Zealand Guidebook. This is a great honour for us to be selected by Lonely Planet, as their authors have a rigorous selection process, selecting businesses for inclusion “based purely on merit” says Donna.
Donna says; “What really makes us excited is how many of our wonderful tourism operators actually feature in the Top 10 excellent TripAdvisor reviews in New Zealand. It confirms to us that the Coromandel is a real tourism standout and the best place to be if we want to succeed in business.”
The secret to Sunlover’s success, according to Donna, is in the little details that create big memories for their guests. She says people come from all over the world to experience the best the Coromandel has to offer. This compels her to go the extra mile to make guests feel part of their home, offering many opportunities to savour absolute relaxation and utmost enjoyment during their stay.
The Awards showcase was an occasion to celebrate an excellent year in local tourism and acknowledge the contributions made by all Coromandel tourism operators.
