Whanganui National Park contains the 290km Whanaganui River - the longest navigable waterway in the country. A diverse landscape of river systems, lowland forests and countless hills and valleys punctuate the park. Walking, tramping and various water activities are popular and Maori culture is an important aspect of the park.
