Accommodation Details

Tinakori Lodge is a long-established, two-storey colonial guesthouse situated at 182 Tinakori Road in Wellington's prestigious suburb of Thorndon. Thorndon is an historic area with old wooden buildings, specialty shops and historic homesteads - including the Prime Minister's residence, and Katherine Mansfield House.

In 1868 Tinakori Lodge was built using native timber, and was established as a family home. Over a century later the home was refurbished and became Tinakori Lodge. Today, we continue to preserve and enrich the Lodge's historic character.

Superb accommodation is offered within our elegant Lodge. We find the ambience of the Lodge is popular with both international and corporate guests.

Tinakori Lodge is set amongst bush-clad hills and within easy walking distance of central Wellington. Tinakori Lodge stands well above the road and is insulated from any city bustle.

Tinakori Lodge has nine warm, inviting and spacious bedrooms:
Five with ensuite bathrooms, and four that share a large, quality bathroom area.
All rooms are furnished with quality bedding and are elegantly decorated - enriching the historic character of the Lodge.
Each room has a television, telephone, clock-radio and electric blankets. Broadband internet is available.

The conservatory, which overlooks native bush-clad hills, is a delightful place to relax while enjoying complimentary hot or chilled drinks, snacks and browsing through newspapers and magazines. It's also a great spot for talking with your hosts Neville & Linda and other guests.

A full self-service breakfast is provided in the peaceful breakfast room. Our oven-fresh croissants or cooked breakfast, freshly brewed coffee and select teas is a great way to start the day.
