Celebrating Chocolate

The chocolate is literally running down the streets of Dunedin this July when the 9th Cadbury Chocolate Carnival celebrates winter and chocolate with a week of fun-packed family entertainment and events. If you're a sucker for all things chocolate, it's a great place for you to be in between Saturday 11th July to Friday 17th July.

Carnival Highlights

The highlight of the event is the famous Cadbury Jaffa Race which is held on the world's steepest street. Enjoy the spectacle of watching over 30,000 chocolate jaffas (small candy-coated chocolate balls) speeding downhill. Other events planned include:

• Opening Gala (Saturday 11 th July) – Interactive, indoor extravaganza held at the Edgar Centre in Dunedin (9am – 4pm).
• Chocolate Therapy – Find out what your taste in chocolate reveals about you and how you can understand yourself through chocolate.
• Chocolate Cooking Show – With much loved New Zealand chef, Jo Seagar.
• Madagascar Live! – An all singing, all dancing show, which the kids will love.
• Peninsula Day – Tours heading out to the wildlife and sightseeing attractions of the Otago Peninsula.
• Moro Band Jam – A musical talent competition, with huge appeal for teenagers.

There's much more to enjoy too, including a special Cadbury Crunchie Train, Chocolate Jazz and Shiraz, Teddy Bears' Picnic, Magic Show and of course, a trip to the Cadbury chocolate factory itself.
