About our Bay of Plenty Swimming with Dolphins Business
Dolphin Seafaris has been operating for many years and is the leading professional quality eco-tour operator and provider of watching and swimming with dolphins in the Bay of Plenty area. We do not have any age restrictions for children and families to join our tours.
All our guides are genuine local marine naturalists with university degrees, are fully qualified Dive Masters, and share a deep love of all marine mammals, especially dolphins that frequent the ocean in the Bay area.
Both our current skippers Brandon and Andre are former tutors of marine studies at the Bay of Plenty Polytechnic in Tauranga, and are dive-master instructors.
We are the only dolphin eco tour operator with our own dedicated booking centre in both locations at Tauranga and Mt Maunganui for your convenience.
Our qualified professional staff are also marine biologists and naturalists, so that when it comes to giving a wealth of knowledge, experience and information to our customers, you just cannot get better service anywhere! We accept Eftpos, Visa, Mastercard and cash.
Dolphin Seafaris and our vessels Guardian and Catch-up III are fully licensed to operate with a special marine mammal permit issued by the New Zealand Department of Conservation.
We work very closely with them to ensure that the interests and welfare of the Bay of Plenty dolphins is paramount and we operate to the full set of guidelines set down by them for interaction by humans with wild dolphins.
Trips are weather dependent at all times. During our peak season from December – February we will have a 7:30am trip and a 10am trip departing to accommodate beginner and advanced snorkelers.
There will also be an additional Harbour Cruise trip which will depart on days that cruise ships are in Tauranga. Our vessels are also available for private charter for TV, wildlife filming, Christmas functions and weddings. Contact us for further details.
