Ethical Wildlife Viewing

Dolphin Seafaris' Wild Dolphin Encounter departs daily from Tauranga Bridge Marina aboard our spacious high-speed catamaran, fully-equipped with a large viewing area on the bow ideal for dolphin watching. Our boat is comfortable, stable and very family friendly. Our safe swim bars provide close swimming encounters with wild Common Dolphins.

Large numbers of dolphins, whales, orcas and an abundance of marine life is just a short boat ride away, so come with us and cruise in style and comfort, we are the professionals! On the rare occasion we are unable to find a pod of dolphins for your viewing pleasure, we will offer you a voucher to come back out with us for free during the season.

Cruise in Comfort

Our vessel, Guardian is a well-appointed spacious vessel with rear access, and a huge foredeck viewing area so that everyone can see the dolphins riding the catamaran's double bow wave as we cruise the crystal clear blue waters of the Pacific Ocean in the Bay of Plenty. Guardian has full facilities, W.C. and washroom, tea, coffee and snacks.

Cruise in comfort on our large couches indoors as well as outdoor seating on the lower level and upper large observation fly deck area. We have customized swim bars specifically made to ensure your swim with dolphins in Tauranga is just as special if you are not confident in the water.

About our Dolphin Seafaris

Dolphin Seafaris has been operating for many years in Tauragna and is the leading eco-tour operator for watching and swimming with dolphins in the Bay of Plenty area. We do not have any age restrictions for children and families to join our tours.

Our qualified professional wildlife guides are a mix of marine biologist, dive instructors and all of them are marine wildlife enthusiast, so that when it comes to giving a wealth of knowledge, experience and information to our customers, you just cannot get better service anywhere!

Dolphin Seafaris and our vessel Guardian operates with a special marine mammal permit issued by the New Zealand Department of Conservation. We work very closely with the Department of Conservation to ensure that the interests and welfare of the Bay of Plenty dolphins is paramount. We operate to the full set of guidelines set down by them for interaction by humans with wild dolphins.

Trips are weather and passenger number dependent. We need a minimum of 10 full-fare adults to run the trips.
