Mt Maunganui is a popular holiday resort town renowned for its surf and safe swimming beaches located in the Bay of Plenty. The grueling mount summit climb takes about one and a half hours, and covers a distance of just under four kilometres, but is well worth the climb with amazing views of the beach, Matakana Island, and boats coming and going through the small harbour entrance to the Port of Tauranga.
