Bay of Plenty - Murupara and Whirinaki Forest Park

The small town of Murupara is located in the Bay of Plenty region of New Zealand and provides access to the beautiful Whirinaki Forest Park. A conservation park, Whirinaki Forest is a place of tall trees, rushing rivers, a variety of habitats and the picturesque Mangamate Waterfall. There are several places to camp in Whirinaki Forest, along with lots of tramping tracks and bush walks, and great fishing spots - some with wooden platforms so even those in wheelchairs can get out over the river and fish.
