Matauri Bay is a bay in New Zealand, situated 30 km north of Kerikeri, in Whangaroa county, just north of the Bay of Islands in the Northland region. It has over a kilometre of beautiful white sand and crystal clear water. It is particularly popular in the summer when thousands flock there to stay in the local camping ground which can be seen at the left hand end of the beach. more
The Rainbow Warrior was given a final resting place near Matauri Bay, at the Cavalli Islands. It has become a living reef, attracting marine life and recreational divers.
Plug in your music and pop open your complimentary bottle of bubbly while you soak up the magnificent sea views. Stroll down to the private beach for a dip, help yourself to snorkel gear or kayaks and explore the many coves or sea caves nearby. Or do nothing, get cosy in front of a DVD or relax in the sauna.
