Whangaroa Harbour Nature and Eco Tourism
Not too far north from the Bay of Islands lies Whangaroa Harbour, it is the resting place of the sailing ship Boyd, which was involved in an incident in 1809, referred to as the Boyd Massacre. The Greenpeace flagship Rainbow Warrior rests nearby at the Cavalli Islands. Now home to reef fishes, it is known world-wide as a spectacular diving spot.
