Nelson Lakes National Park sits at the top of the South Island at the beginning of the Southern Alps. The lovely alpine lakes of Rotoroa and Rotoiti are at the heart of the area and are surrounded by alpine landscape of rugged peaks and forests. There's a range of easy walks through to advanced tramping routes.
