Find a Slice of Heaven on the Mahia Peninsula

Mahia is a quiet beach village on the North Island's East Coast, a 374 hectare reserve is one of the last large tracts of lowland coastal forest remaining in New Zealand. The 3.5 kilometre loop track takes walkers through a range of different types of native vegetation and takes one and half to two hours to complete. Mahia Beach is a delightful holiday village with great fishing, surfing and diving, as well as safe swimming beaches and a nine hole golf course. An excellent range of accommodation is available, which makes it an ideal spot for a coastal get-away.
