Tandem Skydiving

Tandem skydiving is an incredibly easy, safe and enjoyable way to experience the excitement of skydiving without having to learn how.

Freefall at speeds of up to 200 kilometres per hour and enjoy breathtaking views from our Methven dropzone.

Feel a total sense of freedom while securely harnessed to your personal sky diving instructor. The exhilarating freefall combined with the peace and tranquility of the parachute ride makes your tandem skydive a unique experience you will never forget.

Easy and convenient, our courtesy coach is available from the centre of Christchurch. Allow two to three hours of your time for the experience of a life time.

Tandem skydiving is available seven days per week, all year. There are no age limits, however, you will need a parent or guardian's consent if you are less than 16 years old. Your weight must not exceed 100 kilograms or 220 pounds.

We take pride in our facilities, equipment and experience and have a courtesy coach available to the dropzone from a central location.

Skydiving for a Career

Skydiving is a unique and highly stimulating adventure activity and through the benefits of modern technology, parachute systems and skydiving techniques the sport has reached an extremely developed state of reliability and refinement.

There are a growing number of people who are trying skydiving in the search for the ultimate adventure activity. Consequently the skydiving industry is experiencing rapid growth in the adventure tourism market to cater for this need.

The Diploma in Commercial Skydiving offered at New Zealand Skydiving School is approved by both the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) and New Zealand Parachute Industry Association (NZPIA). The school is also a signatory to the Ministry of Education Code for the Pastoral Care of International Students.

This is a 32-week adventure education curriculum where lectures, assignments and 200 personalised skydives are included. The course prepares students for employment in the industry teaching the skills required for the various jobs as well as covering all practical aspects of working at a commercial drop zone.
