Aoraki Mount Cook National Park contains over 20 mountain peaks over 3,000 metres tall including the counties highest mountain - Aoraki Mount Cook (made famous by Sir Edmond Hillary). Many walking, tramping and climbing options start in the Mt Cook village. Stargazing is one of the highlights.
