Omokoroa Attractions and Activities
Located 15 minutes from Tauranga is Omokoroa, a small urban area in the Western Bay of Plenty. Beginning as a small rural holiday village, Omokoroa has recently expanded to a commuter town. 2,500 residents make up the population of Omokoroa and there is a wide range or orchard and rural activity in the area. There are lovely beaches, cafes, hot pools, great sporting facilities, scenic walks, fantastic fishing and boating opportunities. A ferry leaves from the Omokoroa wharf carrying passengers and cars to and from magical Matakana Island. The Omokoroa Golf Club is one of the best laid out and landscaped 18-hole courses in the Bay of Plenty region, right on the shores of the Tauranga harbour.
