Southland – Waikaka Accommodation

Waikaka is a small town, off the beaten track about 15 minutes north of Gore and 15 minutes west of Tapanui. Historically, Waikaka has been a farming service town, with many supporting businesses, such as a shop, pub, service station, school, transport business, Post Office, Wrightsons, etc, but over the years as travel to larger towns such as Gore became more commonplace, some of those businesses became uneconomic and have closed. The most common route to Waikaka is by turning west at Willowbank on Highway 90 at the old windmill corner.
